From 26th November to 23rd December 2015, Winterville returns to Victoria Park for the second time. An East London take on a winter wonderland, expect street food, craft ales, theme park rides, performances, ice skating, and the Pop Shop Market. Family friendly, but with a distinctly creative edge, last year's event saw 10,000-15,000 visitors on weekdays, and 30,000 on weekends.
Inspired by Christmas time at Andy Warhol's The Factory, the market will see bold primary colours on white canvas, with decorative nods to Roy Lichenstein's famous prints, and a pop-art style Christmas tree. 30 stalls will offer wares from independent designers selling fashion, art and homeware, alongside vintage and collectable pieces. A gift wrapping and even postal service will make shopping for last minute gifts or stocking fillers straight-forward, and a beauty service at peak times - offered by the whimsically named Pop Tarts - promises to complete the festive experience.
Hackney is best served by a large number of local bus routes. Nearest stations to Victoria Park are Mile End and Cambridge Heath. Broadway Market and London Fields, both popular with local hipsters, are a short walk along the canal. There are several pubs and restaurants close by, in the area known as Victoria Village at the north edge of the park.
Minimum opening hours: 11.00 - 21.00 weekdays, 11.00 - 21.00 weekends. Set up and de-rig times an hour before and after.
Up to 30 stalls are available in the 20 x 20m heated structure.
