This space is a true gem, offering a stunning shop front and high footfall that would make any brand stand out. However, it's important to note that due to the layout and size of the space, it may be better suited for retail brands or galleries rather than events.
Please note that for 1 week bookings, tenancies must start on the monday and end on the sunday
Additional Services at Extra Cost
The following services can be arranged by the Landlord for an additional cost:
- Invigilation staff at £15 per hour per person.
- Bartender during Private View (6-11pm) at £75 per person.
- Curatorial services on installation day at £490.
- Assistance with installation at £15 per hour per worker.
- Full Gallery installation, including setup and takedown with
curatorial guidance, packaging for sales and transport: £890.
- Gallery staff: Invigilators and sales staff (0% commission on all
sales made) – £120 per day.
- Photography: Professional photography and image editing for 50 images
per evening – £590.
Space rules
All 1 week bookings run from Monday to Sunday
1. Notification to Participating Tenants
1.1. Insurance of contents/artworks is the responsibility of the Tenant themselves,
and the Landlord cannot, under any circumstances, accept responsibility for
any loss or damage to any contents/artwork however caused. The Landlord only holds
public liability insurance.
1.2. Use only the hanging system supplied by the Landlord and in an
appropriate way.
1.3. All wall-hung works must be supplied by the artist fitted with D rings.
1.4. Works lighter than 7 kilos should be hung using the nylon strings and
hooks.
1.5. Works heavier than 7 kilos must be hung using the steel rods and
appropriate hooks.
1.6. For health and safety reasons, works heavier than 10 kilos cannot be
hung on the walls. The Tenant shall find alternative ways for displaying them.
1.7. No holes, nails, or screws may be drilled or inserted into the walls,
ceiling, or any part of the Space.
1.8. No tapes, masking tape, glue, labels, white/blue tack should be
attached to the walls.
1.9. Damaged artworks, frames, or glass will not be accepted for display.
1.10. All contents/artworks must be collected by the Tenant or their representatives at the end of the exhibition. The Landlord cannot and will not be responsible for keeping or looking after contents/artworks.
2. Hire Includes
2.1. One or two late nights for the Opening/Private View, usually held on Thursdays 6-10pm, with the option to choose any day of the week.
2.2. Access to a Space technician on your installation day.
2.3. Empty wine glasses and utensils for use during Opening/Private Views and throughout the stay in the gallery.
2.4. Toilet facilities for staff.
2.5. Microwave, tea, and coffee making facilities for staff.
2.6. A secure lock room for belongings during the Opening/Private View.
2.7. A small dark room painted black, ideal for video projections or installations.
2.8. Video projection screen mounted on the dark room wall (projector not included).
2.9. A few plinths of various sizes.
2.10. One browser for mounted prints/photos.
2.11. Wireless Internet Access.
2.12. Commissions: The Landlord does not charge commissions on sales. The Tenant is responsible for setting up their own payment receiving process and managing their own sales.
3. Security
3.1. Under no circumstances must the Space be left open and unattended. If adequate invigilation is not available for any reason, the Space must be kept locked and closed to the public.
3.2. The keys to the Space must not be given to a third party without prior written permission from the Landlord or representative, and should not be left in the door at any time.
4. Alcohol and Music
4.1. Alcoholic drinks may be served free of charge but not sold, as the Space does not have a public licence.
4.2. Music may be played at the Space; however, Tenants are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate licence from the local council or licensing authorities if required. The Landlord advises the Tenant to verify and obtain any necessary permissions to comply with local regulations.
5. Prohibited Activities
5.1. Dangerous, hazardous, or illegal activities or substances must not be permitted on the premises.
5.2. All electrical appliances brought to the Space must be tested by a qualified electrician. Certificates shall be issued and presented to the Landlord prior to any event.
5.3. Under no circumstances shall the Tenant handle, touch, or move the spotlights on the ceiling. Should the Tenant wish to have some of the spotlights moved or removed from the ceiling, they must contact the Landlord.
5.4. Lit candles or any other form of live fire are not allowed at the Space.
5.5. Fire safety equipment must not be obstructed, handled, or moved.
5.6. Any liquid spilled on the floor must be cleaned up immediately.
5.7. Use caution when climbing stepladders to install contents/artworks; work in pairs, with someone holding the stepladder.
5.8. No other hanging system, except that supplied by the Landlord, may be used.
